Hua Tuo was an excellent practitioner in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220).

 - He was renowned for his medical skills, especially in surgery. He invented a narcotic formula “Ma Fei Powder” and used it in successful operation on removal of abdominal masses.

 - At the time he used the narcotic, surgeons in the West used stick to knock patients down to perform operation. This anesthesia medication invented by Hua Tuo was earlier by about 1600-1700 years compared with Western anesthesia (ether was firstly publically used as anesthesia in 1848 by William T.G.Morton).

Practicing it regularly can promote the flow of blood, increase strength, improve body’s flexibility and coordination. It can also make people feel sober and cheerful. Thus, it is practiced to keep fit and prevent diseases.
