Emperor Hu Bilie of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368)
Emperor Hu Bilie (1215-1294) of the Yuan Dynasty was the grandson of Emperor Genghis Khan. He passed away at the age of 80. He enjoyed the longest life among other emperors of the Yuan Dynasty.
An ancient idiom says that a kind person leads a long life. Emperor Hu Bilie was very kind, which might be one of the reasons for his longevity.

In addition, he took care of his health very much. He appointed Xu Guozhen, a famous physician, to be his imperial physician serving him at any time. One day, he was ill after taking too much horse milk, but he refused to take the herbal decoction because of the bitter taste. Xu persuaded him, saying  "good medicines always taste bitter, while good advices are always harsh to listen." Finally the emperor took the medicine.
Experienced physicians and their careful service were also important for his longevity.
