Wind, cold, summer-heat, dampness, dryness, fire and heat are called “six qi”, which are six kinds of natural weather factors indispensable to the existence of human beings.  They are appropriate during each season and we usually adapt ourselves to them as they come and go.  Moreover, extremes of weather or unseasonal weather beyond our adaptability make us more vulnerable to the effects of that weather condition and consequently to wind, cold, summer-heat, dampness, dryness, fire and heat.  For example, if it is cool in summer or warm in winter, people are more vulnerable to the effects of weather conditions and fall ill.
