Oracle-bone inscriptions are the earliest known Chinese characters ( dating from about the beginning of the 17th century B.C.—11th century B.C.). They contain a great deal of medical knowledge.
Firstly, the names of the sense organs were carved on the oracle-bones , such as “ ” (ear), “ ” (eye) , “ ” ( nose) , “ ” (mouth) , “ ” ( tongue), and “ ” (tooth).
